With little over a month away before Woody Allen’s Amazon series is released, details of what we can all expect from his first TV work since the 1960s has been hard to come by.
At least we now know what the show will be called and a rough idea of what it’s about, thanks to a sneak peak released today.
The six-part series, now called Crisis in Six Scenes, is set in a rebellious 60s America where a suburban middle class family are visited by a guest who turns their household completely upside down, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The brief clip, shown at last night’s TCA awards, is full of Allen’s classic uncomfortable, self-depricating humour, showing his character, Sidney Muntzinger, visiting his barber hoping to have his hair styled like James Dean but only receiving a stinging critique of his latest, sleep-inducing novella.
Allen will be joined by Miley Cyrus and Elaine May for the series, which premieres in the US on 30 September on Amazon Prime.
