We regret to inform you that the fifth and latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales, will not be coming to UK cinemas this next summer. That’s because the title has changed to Salazar’s Revenge on these shores.
Quite why the marketing bods decide to make the switch is anyone’s guess, but it does mean we’re treated to a spooky new teaser trailer which you can watch below.
If Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) was hoping life would get a little easier this time around, this new clip suggests it will be anything but.
The new footage shows Javier Bardem’s ghostly Captain Salazar, freshly escaped from the Devil’s Triangle, and his spectral crew slaying a bunch of living pirates before politely asking a petrified sailor to relay a message to his former co-hort: “death will come straight for him.”
Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong sailor in the Royal Navy.
Kon-Tiki‘s Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning are at the helm for this one, which Disney will be hoping can keep the successful money tsunami going and generate some better reviews than the last outing.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge arrives on these shores on 26 May 2017.
